The Wedding Photograph

At the wedding, the photographer asked the family to stand together for one picture.

One uncle moved to his better side. An aunt swapped places to avoid the sun. Two cousins went looking for a taller box to stand on. The groom’s mother wanted the flowers moved.

After ten minutes, the photographer took a picture.

“We weren’t ready!” everyone shouted.

“I know,” he said. “It’s the nicest one so far.”

The bride looked at his camera. It showed all the chairs, the flowers, and no relatives at all.

“Can I have a large print?” she asked.
