Arthur’s library book sent a reminder that it was due tomorrow.
He put it beside the front door so he could not forget it.
The next morning, the book was still there and his keys were missing.
His wife asked, Have you checked what the book is sitting on?….
Arthur lifted the book. His keys were underneath it.
He said this proved his reminder system worked. His wife said the book had done most of the work.
At the library, Arthur placed the book on the return desk and proudly said it was exactly one day early.
The librarian scanned it and said it was three weeks late.
Arthur showed her the reminder on his phone. It said due tomorrow because he had postponed the alert twenty-one times.
The librarian asked whether he wanted to renew his card.
Arthur said he did, but first he had to find it.
The librarian opened the returned book. His library card was being used as a bookmark.
Arthur smiled and said the book was very organized.
The librarian handed him both items.
Your book has started checking you out.
