A guest asked the hotel desk for a wake-up call at six. “I have an important train,” he said.
At 5:50 the phone rang. The receptionist said, “Good morning. This is your ten-minute warning.”
At 5:55 it rang again. “Five-minute warning.”
At 5:59 the guest snatched up the receiver. “Please tell me this is the last one.”
“Of course,” said the receptionist. “Your six o’clock wake-up call is in one minute. I wouldn’t want you to sleep through it.”
