A farmer installed a weather app that promised minute-by-minute rain forecasts. At 8:01 it said rain would begin at 8:07.
He brought the washing in. At 8:07 the sky stayed clear. The app moved the rain to 8:12.
At 8:12 his neighbour walked by carrying an umbrella.
“The app says it’s about to rain,” the farmer said.
The neighbour looked toward the hills. “It already is.”
“Not here.”
“No,” said the neighbour. “That’s why I’m walking here.”
The farmer checked the app again. It now said: RAIN NEAR YOU. “Finally,” he said, “something we agree on.”
