The Book Club Vote

Eight neighbours started a book club. Their first meeting was spent deciding what to read.

At the second meeting, two people wanted a mystery, three wanted a biography, and the others suggested a book about making decisions.

At the third meeting, they brought snacks and held another vote. Nobody could remember which title had won the week before.

“We’ve been meeting a month,” Clara said. “Has anyone opened a book?”

“Certainly,” said the chairwoman. “I opened the catalogue to renew this room for another month.”
