A new barber hung an enormous mirror opposite his chair.
His first customer watched every snip. “A little shorter on the left,” he said. “Now the right. No, the other right.”
The barber made three careful adjustments. “How does it look now?”
The customer leaned forward, turned his head, and frowned. “I still can’t decide.”
The barber took a smaller hand mirror from a drawer and offered it to him.
“What’s this for?” the customer asked.
“That one is for the haircut,” said the barber. “The large one is for customers who want to do it themselves.”
