Nora bought a silent garden alarm to stop cats digging her flowerbeds.
The device flashed whenever it detected movement.
By morning, every flower was still standing.
But Nora’s neighbour looked exhausted….
The box promised a sound people could not hear. Nora placed it beside the roses and aimed it toward the fence.
That night the light flashed several times. No cat entered the garden.
At breakfast, her neighbour Sam knocked at the door with his dog.
Sam said the dog had barked at the fence until dawn.
Nora explained that the alarm was silent.
Sam looked at the dog, who was wearing two cushions over his ears.
Silent for customers, apparently.
