New Jersey Pup Pulled From The Brink Melts In The Arms Of The First Person Who Showed Her Kindness

Phoebe and Tabitha, a pair of sweet Great Danes, waited their whole lives to be loved.

Their home was an overcrowded shelter in Georgia.

Since they weren’t supervised and protected, one day, they wandered into the property of a farmer who lived near the shelter.

When he spotted the dogs, he threatened to shoot them.

Phoebe and Tabitha were terrified, and they badly needed a way out.

Fortunately, their luck soon changed.

Meeting Kind Humans

When animal advocates heard about the two Great Danes and the terrible situation they were in, they sprang into action.

An animal control officer and a vet technician rushed to the location in order to collect the dogs and bring them to safety.

Phoebe and Tabitha were desperate. They longed to wake up from their nightmare and find the love they had never experienced.

When the two Great Danes spotted their saviors, their eyes filled with gratitude. They sighed in relief and hopped into their arms, looking for affection.

Although it was their first time seeing them, Tabitha and Phoebe sensed that they could trust them.

“They [clung] to the first human who showed them compassion after a life spent just trying to survive,” Hounds in Pounds, a rescue in New Jersey, wrote on Facebook.

The rescue team comforted Phoebe and Tabitha and took them to one of the rescue’s veterinary partners.

In Need Of A Loving Foster Home

The delightful dogs finally received the medical care they needed all along and the love they lacked. They were no longer the invisible dogs who suffered in silence.

“Phoebe, the gentle girl who lived with a broken foot for two long years, is finally getting medical care. No more silent suffering. Tabitha, never far from her side, is finally learning what it feels like to be comforted…,” the rescue shared in an update.

The dogs urgently need a foster home where they can heal and prepare for a life in their forever home.

According to the New Jersey rescue, Tabitha and Phoebe can be housed together or separately.

The dogs, who were true representatives of their breed, won their rescuers’ hearts.

The gorgeous Great Danes had a lovely disposition. They were thankful to the kind humans and had so much love to give to them.

We all hope that a wonderful foster family will soon take the lovely dogs in and show them how beautiful life is.

After the ordeal they went through, the dogs deserved to live a happy life with humans who would never let them down.
