Brian Programs the New Garage Remote

Brian programmed a new garage remote and tested it from every room.

The door opened from the kitchen, bedroom and garden.

He proudly showed his wife the range.

Then a neighbour knocked and asked Brian to press the button once more….

Brian liked equipment with a long range. He said it proved quality.

His wife asked why a garage remote needed to work from the bedroom.

Brian said emergencies could happen upstairs.

He pressed the button beside the bed. A motor hummed outside.

From the kitchen, it worked again.

From the garden shed, it still worked.

Brian stood at the far fence and raised the remote like a trophy.

His wife watched the garage door. It did not move.

Brian pressed again. Somewhere beyond the hedge, a motor hummed.

Their neighbour appeared at the gate.

Could you press that once more?

Brian did.

The neighbour’s garage door closed.

Brian looked at his own door. It had stayed open during every test.

The neighbour thanked him.

I have been trying to catch it all afternoon.
