Beer habit

A woman was lecturing a man at a bar about his beer habit.

“Do you drink beer?”

“Yes.”

“How many beers do you drink every day?”

“About three.”

“And how much do you pay for each beer?”

“About $5, including the tip.”

She nodded seriously.

“And how long have you been drinking like this?”

“About 20 years.”

She quickly pulled out her calculator.

“Three beers a day at $5 each… that’s roughly $450 a month, or $5,400 a year.”

She paused dramatically.

“In 20 years, that’s about $108,000!”

The man nodded.

“Sounds about right.”

The woman smiled proudly.

“Do you realize that if you had invested all that money instead, you could probably have enough to buy a plane by now?”

The man looked at her.

“Really?”

“Absolutely!”

He thought for a moment, then calmly asked,

“Do you drink beer?”

“No.”

He smiled.

“Then where’s your plane?”

The woman suddenly became very interested in her calculator.
