Patricia Joins the Gentle Walking Group

Patricia joined a gentle walking group in the park.

The leader promised an easy pace with plenty of rests.

After ten minutes, Patricia was alone on a bench.

She phoned the leader and asked where everyone had gone….

The group met beside the fountain wearing bright jackets and serious watches.

The leader said nobody would be left behind.

They began slowly. Patricia enjoyed the trees and stopped to read a sign about ducks.

When she looked up, the group had crossed the bridge.

She followed until the leader shouted, Rest stop!

Patricia sat on a bench. Everyone else began stretching, marching in place and swinging their arms.

She closed her eyes for one minute.

When she opened them, the path was empty.

She called the leader.

He said they were completing the gentle part.

Patricia asked what that meant.

We left quietly so we wouldn’t wake you.
