The office held a competition for the healthiest desk plant. Each Friday, the manager measured the leaves and checked the soil.
For three weeks, Daniel’s cactus was the clear favourite. On judging day it had doubled in size.
“What’s your secret?” the manager asked.
Daniel looked embarrassed. “I went on holiday and asked Sam to water it.”
“That worked remarkably well.”
Sam leaned over the partition. “Daniel, which one is your cactus?”
Daniel pointed to the large green plant.
“That’s mine,” Sam said. “Yours is still on your desk, behind the monitor.”
