The Meeting That Saved Time

At Monday’s staff meeting, Martin announced that he had finally found a way to save the company time.

“From now on, every meeting must have written minutes,” he said. “Then we can see exactly where our time goes.”

He handed a notebook to Nina and spent the next half hour explaining the new system. There would be color codes, weekly reports, and a meeting every Friday to review whether the meetings were getting shorter.

When Martin finally stopped, he asked Nina to read her first set of minutes aloud.

She looked at her notebook. “Forty-seven.”

“Forty-seven what? That isn’t a summary.”

“Minutes,” Nina said. “You asked me to show you where the time went.”
