Two elderly women were sitting on a patio one afternoon, drinking tea and talking about their grandchildren.
One of them sighed and said,
โI donโt understand kids these days. I send my grandchildren birthday cards, gifts, and even very generous checksโฆ and they still barely come visit me.โ
The other old lady smiled and nodded saidโ Oh i too send cheques to my grandchildren and they visit me all the time!โ
โReally?โ the first woman asked. โYou are so fortunate itโs great to have family around. That must feel wonderful.โ
โNo my grandchildren are as good as yoursโ the second woman replied.
The first lady leaned closer.
โWhatโs your secret?โ
The second old woman took a slow sip of tea and grinned.
โI never sign the checks.โย
